A 21-year-old man who was shot and killed over the weekend in south Louisville has been named by authorities.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified that guy as Louisville resident Christopher Fuentes.

Just after 9 o’clock on Saturday, according to Alicia Smiley, a spokeswoman for the Louisville Metro Police Department, officers were summoned to the 6700 block of Strawberry Lane. That is close to Iroquois Park in the Southland Park area.

When they arrived on the site, authorities discovered Fuentes, a guy who had been shot, according to the coroner’s office. He was brought to UofL Hospital in critical condition, but he later passed away from his wounds.

On Sunday, a 13-year-old girl gave herself up to the police. According to Smiley, she was charged with one count of reckless homicide. A 15-year-old boy was also detained and accused of tampering with tangible evidence and minor in possession of a firearm.

Due to KRS 610.320(3) and 610.340, which exempt juvenile law enforcement data from disclosure, and the fact that both defendants are minors, no additional information is accessible, according to Smiley.

The homicide unit of LMPD is looking into it.
